Oregon Football Player Had Message For Ohio State’s Recruits
The Oregon Ducks’ upset over the No. 3 Buckeyes dropped Ohio State’s season record to 1-1. While that’s the short-term result of this game, the longterm result could be the loss of some future potential recruits.
According to Oregon insider Jarrid Denney, Ducks’ safety Marko Vidackovic walked past a group of Ohio State recruits visiting Columbus for this afternoon’s big game. The young prospects reportedly looked “absolutely stunned.”
“You boys better come to Oregon,” Vidackovic reportedly said.
Ohio State has consistently topped Oregon in recruiting rankings in recent years.
The Buckeyes 2021 recruiting class featured seven five-star and 13 four-star recruits, landing them the No. 2 overall ranking, per 247Sports. The Ducks followed behind with zero five-star and 19 four-star recruits in the No. 6 position.
This coming year, Oregon is already starting to close that gap. With one five-star and nine four-stars in the 2022 class, the Ducks (No. 7) are just two spots behind the Buckeyes (No. 5) in 2022 recruiting rankings.
If today’s 35-28 upset victory has any effect on future recruiting, that gap may start to close even further in the coming years.
Today’s win was Oregon’s first ever victory over Ohio State, bringing the overall series record to 9-1.
