College Football World Reacts To Robert Griffin III’s GameDay Debut
ESPN made a savvy signing earlier this month, adding Robert Griffin III to its team for the 2021 football season. On Saturday, he made his debut on College GameDay.
Griffin, a former Heisman Trophy winner, has made several TV appearances in the past. However, there’s something special about College GameDay that separates it from ESPN’s other shows, like Get Up or SportsCenter.
Though it’s extremely early in his broadcasting career, it appears college football fans already like what they’re hearing from Griffin.
“ESPN found them a gem in Robert Griffin III,” Bryce Hayes of SB Nation tweeted. “He’s been good TV every appearance I’ve seen so far.”
“Robert Griffin III is killing this GameDay thing,” one fan wrote. “He’s gonna have a long career in this!”
“Robert Griffin III was made for this job,” another fan said.
Shortly after College GameDay went off air this Saturday, Griffin went on Twitter to share his experience on the show with his fans.
“Blessed that a prime time HBCU game is the first call of my broadcasting career,” Griffin said. “Honoring HBCUs & the legacy of players who paved the way for guys who look like me to play this game is something I don’t take lightly.”
It’s safe to say Griffin had an impressive debut on College GameDay.
Hopefully, we’ll see Griffin make weekly appearances on College GameDay this season.
