Trea Turner was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers for a season-and-a-half.

He arrived to the city in the same trade as Max Scherzer, boosting the Dodgers’ chances in 2021 before they eventually fell to the Atlanta Braves in the NL Championship Series.

Then 2022 came, and Turner was as good as ever.

He was a huge factor in two postseason runs for the Dodgers, and while not everything was as smooth as it looked, fans are appreciative of his contributions in 2021 and 2022.

“Thank you @dodgers fans! Was blast playing in front of all of you! Memories I’ll never forget!” the player tweeted, showing that he will also carry those memories forever.

“From electric slides and plays to hitting streaks and a batting title. Thank you, @treavturner. Best of luck in Philadelphia!” the Dodgers had wrote on Twitter about their former star.

The Dodgers Will Have To Move On Without Turner

The Dodgers are one of the wealthiest teams in baseball, but they weren’t particularly keen on splashing $300 million on a single player, no matter how good he is.

After losing Turner, it remains to be seen if the Dodgers will pursue a similarly talented shortstop like Carlos Correa, or if they will go down a tier and bring in Dansby Swanson or someone via trade.

They could also consider giving the keys to the position to Gavin Lux or another internal option.

As for Turner, he will join a top team that went to the World Series a few weeks ago and has what it takes to embark on a similar run next season.

It’s good to know that after everything they went through together, there is mutual love and respect between Turner and Dodgers fans.
