Why Pats are top seed in AFC

This is sportscenter 5, 2 minute drill. Hi everybody, what a difference a year makes. After 13 games last year, the patriots had a record of six and seven and if you remember nationally and even locally, many were wondering if Bill Belichick lost his edge and his ability not only to coach, but to pick talent after the Buffalo game, Belichick has gone back to being called a coaching genius, Many calling his game plan versus the Bills and those terrible conditions a masterpiece People. Now, even praising Bill the GM for his draft picks and the roster he has put together this year. We’re not hearing nearly as much brady versus Belichick debate. Why is that because the patriots are winning? That’s why. So what changed to get his edge back? Did he suddenly regain his magic touch when finding and picking talent? I look at it this way. He has much better players this year. He has a better quarterback, better wide receivers, better tight ends in a much better front seven on defense. He was still a great coach last year, even when they went seven and nine, he just didn’t have the talent to win in this league. I don’t care how great a coach you are. Talent is still so important in the National Football League now he is the players and yes, you can still pick players. Has he had some bad drafts? Yes, no question about it. This is an inexact science and if you do it, as long as Bill Belichick has, you’re gonna have some down years when it comes to the draft, but his draft picks this year, they look pretty good. Matt jones, christian Bar Mark, remind Ray Stevenson. And how about a topic last year, Kyle dugger from Division two school? He’s having an excellent season, Looks like an excellent player. And the guys, he signed this offseason, Matsuda and Hunter, Henry, David. God show they were great signings and re acquiring Trent. Brown looks pretty good as well. Even signing Jamie Collins after he was let go by the Lions. Very good move. Here’s the thing, the guys he went out and got and the guys he drafted along with the veterans he already had here have totally bought into his way of coaching. And that’s a big reason why the Patriots are still the top seed in the A. F. C. At this very moment. I’m do Castiglione. That’s the two minute drill. Yeah.
