This is SportsCenter 52 minute drill. There will come a time when Father Time grabs Tom Brady by the scruff of his neck, escorts him off the NFL stage. But that time isn’t now. Brady is not only an all time great, he’s a timeless classic, the Pontes daily own of passers on. He’s a charter member of the 40 40 club. Brady threw four touchdown passes in a win over the Atlanta Falcons to reach 40 for the season at age 43. The Onley season, in which he has thrown more touchdown passes, was 2007. He tossed 50 at the age of 30. While some bitter Patriots fans have tried to scrub Brady from their memories like an old flame erased from an Instagram account, he remains one of the game’s top quarterbacks. What he’s doing at his age is unprecedented in NFL annals. He’s defying age, and those who said he couldn’t succeed without a certain coach what he’s doing at 43 as an NFL quarterback is unprecedented. It’s a monumental accomplishment that deserves a moment of observance. Most cubes of Brady’s ilk are ready for their rocking chairs, or at least the broadcast booth. By now. The athletic actuary tables were long ago tilted against him to put Brady’s 40 touchdown past season at his age into perspective. Entering this season, the most career touchdown passes for any player over the age of 40 was 40 for both Warren Moon and Brett Farve. Through 44 combined touchdown passes from the age of 40 on across multiple seasons multiple seasons Brady almost equal that total. This season alone, Brady is an oldie and a good. He is now throwing a combined 125 TD passes. Post 40 Practically unthinkable now, people sometimes laugh and snicker at Brady’s training methods. Is avocado ice cream. His dedication. Hydration is Prata sizing of pliability. The whole T B 12 method. Well, you can snicker all you want, but whatever Brady is doing, it’s working for him and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led them to the playoffs for the first time since 2007 and to an 11 win season for the first time since 2005. Brady keeps on passing and the game is far from passing him by. He’s still throwing TD passes while throwing the normal career expectancy out the window, giving, giving new meaning to the term all time Great, that’s the two minute drill.
