Tom Aspinall – Winners Only Club

CHICAGO, IL DECEMBER 10, 2022 JACOB DIETRICH

Tom Aspinall should be ready to make his anticipated return from injury after injuring his knee in a fight against Curtis Blaydes. Aspinall is 5-1 in the UFC but his lone loss is due to the injury that happened 15 seconds into the fight when Blaydes checked a kick resulting in a freak injury. Aspinall is still a high ranked heavyweight who should be looked at in title contention along with Jon Jones, Ciryl Gane, Stipe Miocic, Curtis Blaydes, and Sergei Pavlovich. Aspinall is in the mix for a big fight at the O2 likely in the co-main spot of UFC 286. Derrick Lewis or Tai Tuivasa would be two names to watch as potential opponents in 2023. Both ranked fighters but are both winnable fights for the Englishman. Aspinall, based on his Instagram, is looking to be recovering well and his return in 2023 will be one of the most anticipated as the 29 year old looks to become the next UK superstar amongst the likes of Leon Edwards and Darren Till. A very real expectation for Aspinall is that he is ranked number 2 or 3 by the end of the year and in serious conversation to fight for the title in 2024 and if I can suggest, the heavyweight title should be fought at Madison Square Garden in November 2024 hopefully headlined by Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall to set up USA vs England in a premier division.
