Ja’Marr Chase overtakes Mac Jones as Rookie of the Year favorite

Rookie of the Year debate: Has Chase passed Jones entering Week 18? originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

The race for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award saw a dramatic swing in Week 17 thanks to a historic performance.

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones entered Sunday’s games as the betting favorite for the award. He played quite well, too, throwing for 227 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in a dominant 50-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Even though Jones was excellent, his performance was nowhere near as impressive as what we saw from Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Convention center expecting big year in 2022

Dec. 12—The Owensboro Convention Center and the Sportscenter were both on track in 2020 to have their most successful years since the convention center opened in 2014.

And then the coronavirus pandemic reached Owensboro, and both venues had to close on March 8.

And it was months before either was back to anything approaching normal.

At the end of May 2021, Laura Alexander, general manager of both facilities, said, “We’re turning the corner. The summer is looking very good.”

Redick, speaking on “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt,” praised Mobley.
