Rafael Devers ripped two homers including the go-ahead two-run blast in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday, lifting the Red Sox over the Nationals to clinch the top wild card slot in the American League.

Devers finished the game 4-for-5 with two homers, four RBIs, and three runs. He singled and scored in the seventh on Alex Verdugo’s game-tying two-run double, which set the table for perhaps the biggest hit of Devers’s career in the top of the ninth.

The New York Yankees put their fans through the ringer this weekend. What looked like a historic win for the franchise turned into an absolutely crushing loss to their hated rival, the Boston Red Sox.

In the final game of a four-game series at Fenway Park, Yankees starting pitcher Domingo German looked absolutely incredible to start. Through seven innings, he allowed just two base runners, one on a walk in the third, and another reached safely on a passed ball after striking out in the seventh.

German was in striking distance of the second no-hitter of the year for the franchise, and the first Yankees no-hitter against the Red Sox since Dave Righetti in 1983.
