Ecuador vs. Brazil result: Referee and VAR the stars in wild World Cup qualifier that ends 1-1

Ecuador and Brazil played one of the wilder, incident-filled matches of the 2022 South American World Cup qualifying campaign. The result finished 1-1, but it was a match that featured seven yellow cards, two red cards, two other red cards that were rescinded after video review, and two Ecuador penalties that were also wiped away on review.

The draw allows Brazil to remain undefeated atop the South American qualifying table, while Ecuador tacks on another valuable point as it seeks to clinch the third automatic ticket to the Qatar 2022 World Cup. A berth for La Tri seems all but certain with a seven point lead and only three matches remaining.

The opening five minutes were a sign of what was to come with Ecuador’s Enner Valencia missing a clear look at goal and Brazil’s Casemiro finding the breakthrough just moments later after cleaning up a chaotic sequence. In a

Buckeyes beat Utes in wild Rose Bowl Classic

Jaxon Smith-Njigba turned in the best receiving performance in bowl game history as No. 6 Ohio State stormed back to beat No. 11 Utah, 48-45, in the Rose Bowl.

Smith-Njigba had 347 receiving yards and three touchdowns and what we all thought could be the game-winning score in an incredible throw-and-catch from C.J. Stroud with less than five minutes to go.

Rising was able to walk off the field after he was examined by trainers but went into the team’s injury tent and didn’t return to the game. He was replaced by walk-on QB Bryson

Rafael Devers ripped two homers including the go-ahead two-run blast in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday, lifting the Red Sox over the Nationals to clinch the top wild card slot in the American League.

Devers finished the game 4-for-5 with two homers, four RBIs, and three runs. He singled and scored in the seventh on Alex Verdugo’s game-tying two-run double, which set the table for perhaps the biggest hit of Devers’s career in the top of the ninth.

The Red Sox will now face the Yankees on Tuesday in the AL wild card game. Thanks to their victory on Sunday, the
