Turns out that the third-grade teacher who promised her class some hot chocolate if she made a deep basket—and promptly sank the shot, in a video that has since gone viral—has some serious game.

As in, she’s former Rutgers basketball player Kathleen Fitzpatrick.

Lakers star Anthony Davis out at least 1 month with MCL sprain from Timberwolves loss [Video]

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis will be out for at least a month after suffering an MCL sprain in his left knee, the team said Saturday.

Davis left Friday night’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the third quarter after his knee was rolled up on by Jaden McDaniels — which sent the two to the court while Davis grabbed his leg in pain.

He slowly walked off the court and into the tunnel toward the locker room after standing up, but collapsed in pain in the tunnel.

He finished with nine points and one rebound in 20 minutes in the Lakers’ 110-92 loss at the Target Center.

Davis underwent an MRI in Chicago on Saturday — ahead of the Lakers’ game against the Bulls on Sunday — which revealed the MCL sprain.

With his four-week timeline, Davis will likely miss at least 14 games. The Lakers are set

Houston coach Kelvin Sampson apologized to Alabama for kicked chair, trash can after loss [Video]

Houston coach Kelvin Sampson apologized on Sunday night after an assistant coach and a player kicked chairs and a trash can over on their way off the court following the Cougars’ 83-82 loss to No. 9 Alabama.

No. 13 Houston lost to the Crimson Tide on Saturday night after missing a 3-pointer and multiple tip-ins in the final seconds. As time expired, Alabama guard JD Davison blocked a ball near the rim to seal the win — something Sampson and others thought should’ve been called goaltending.

No review was called, and Houston lost by one.

As the Cougars walked off the floor to the locker room, Houston assistant Kellen Sampson — Kelvin’s son — was seen kicking and breaking one chair and then kicking a second one. Houston forward Reggie Chaney also kicked a broken chair, and then knocked over a garbage can.

Houston guard Jamal Shead stopped on his

Lions head coach Dan Campbell on the field.

It’s impossible to look at this video and say Dan Campbell doesn’t care deeply about this win. The Lions video team caught the head coach’s immediate reaction to Detroit’s first win of the season in the final seconds.

It’s great to see Campbell’s Lions finally get a win this season. The first-year head coach did a great job of keeping the team together through some tough breaks throughout the year.

Week-in and week-out the Lions show up to play and they play hard. Now the team has at least victory to show for it.

All things considered, Detroit got one of its better performances from quarterback Jared Goff. The former No. 1 overall pick finished 25-41 for 296 yards and three touchdowns. Though he did turn the ball over twice.

The offense also made up for the absence of D’Andre Swift
