Steph Curry breaks Wilt Chamberlain’s record to become the Golden State Warriors’ all-time scoring leader

On Monday night, it didn’t take long for Steph Curry to make history at Chase Center.

With 21 points in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets, Curry etched his name at the top of Golden State’s record books to pass Wilt Chamberlain as the franchise’s all-time scoring leader.

Heading into Monday’s tilt against the Nuggets, Curry needed 18 points to tie Chamberlain’s franchise-best 17,783 points with the Warriors. The seven-time All-Star point guard exploded in the first quarter to officially pass Chamberlain on a layup with 1:40 remaining in the opening quarter.

Wichita State’s Sydney McKinney has been a key part to the Shockers’ 17-4 start to the season. WSU recently beat No. 6 Oklahoma State this past week for the program’s highest-ranked win ever.

Complete with a “SportsCenter” Top 10 catch in the outfield, the Wichita State softball team registered its highest-ranked win in program history this past week with a 9-2 win over No. 6 Oklahoma State on Thursday in Stillwater.

It was the highlight of a 4-1 finish at the Mizuno Classic, as the Shockers collected their second ranked win of the season and improved to 17-4 this season.

Another web gem lands Florida State shortstop, Michigan native on SportsCenter Top Plays

PORTAGE, MI – Another game, another incredible defensive play from Florida State shortstop Josie Muffley.

With two outs and an Arizona runner on second in the top of the third inning, the Seminoles infielder and former Portage Central star snagged a line drive up the middle, faked a throw to first base, then turned and rifled a throw to third to pick off the greedy Wildcats baserunner who made a wide turn toward home plate.

Muffley’s web gem shut down an Arizona rally and helped No. 15 FSU claim a 4-2 win over the second-ranked Wildcats.

Deion Sanders is off to a red-hot start in his Jackson State head coaching career.

On Saturday afternoon, the Tigers pulled off a strong 33-28 win over FCS powerhouse rival Grambling State — and they did it in exciting fashion. Forcing a goal-line fumble late in the fourth quarter, Sanders’ highly rated defense sealed the victory and improved JSU’s spring-season record to 2-0.

Coach Prime was clearly ecstatic with his team’s effort. The first-year head coach went nuts in celebration on the Jackson State sideline.
