Morgan County’s Jacob Martin had a goal featured on SportsCenter as a top play of the week. All right after a round of chemotherapy.

It was the goal heard around the country: Morgan County defender Jacob Martin scored his first goal of the season, a game clincher featured on SportsCenter.

“My Mom called me too and said I was on SportsCenter and I thought oh my gosh, that’s literally insane,” junior Jacob Martin recalled.

Another web gem lands Florida State shortstop, Michigan native on SportsCenter Top Plays

PORTAGE, MI – Another game, another incredible defensive play from Florida State shortstop Josie Muffley.

With two outs and an Arizona runner on second in the top of the third inning, the Seminoles infielder and former Portage Central star snagged a line drive up the middle, faked a throw to first base, then turned and rifled a throw to third to pick off the greedy Wildcats baserunner who made a wide turn toward home plate.

Muffley’s web gem shut down an Arizona rally and helped No. 15 FSU claim a 4-2 win over the second-ranked Wildcats.

The play also caught the attention of ESPN, which placed it at No. 6 in SportsCenter’s Top Plays segment for Thursday, March 11.

Now in her second season in Tallahassee, Muffley has established herself as a top-flight defensive player, with her latest highlight-reel play coming less than a month after a video of

Elle Duncan is clearly a passionate Georgia sports fan — for better or for worse.

On Tuesday’s episode of the Paul Finebaum Show, the fifth-year ESPN anchor went on a long-winded tirade about the misfortunes of her most beloved teams.

Duncan believes the entire state of Georgia is cursed.

“I love David Pollack, but he says to me at the beginning of last year, ‘You watch them Dawgs this year.’ Watch them do what David? I’m not even putting that on Kirby (Smart),” Duncan said Tuesday on The Paul Finebaum Show, per 247Sports. “My husband has a theory and I think you can appreciate this, Paul. This is a real theory he has thrown out as a long-suffering Braves fan, Hawks fan, Falcons fan, Bulldog … he thinks that Georgia, the state of Georgia, is still being cursed by General Sherman
