Chet Holmgren To Decide Between 7 Schools On Monday

Minnehaha Academy center Chet Holmgren is the top recruit in the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, but only one team will get his college services.

According to ESPN’s Paul Biancardi, Holmgren is slated to make his college choice on Monday at noon EST. The seven schools he has on his list are Georgetown, Gonzaga, Memphis, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina and Ohio State.

247Sports gave Holmgren a perfect score in their composite player rating. He is the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2021.

Back in January, 247Sports recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins went so far as to draw a pro comparison between Holmgren and Laker megastar Anthony Davis. Between his length, blocking ability and versatility, he can do a lot more than the average center.

WJCC Schools, York County School Division on track for fall sports season

Some public schools in the Historic Triangle are gearing up for the fall sports season.

Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and the York County School Division are allowing students to compete in fall sports during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

WJCC Schools announced on Monday the school division is allowing high school athletes to compete in varsity sports.

“The first game of the season will be a football game on February 26,” according to the WJCC Schools’ news release. “This is the week after some high school students return to school for in-person, hybrid learning.”

However, this does not apply to junior varsity or middle school fall sports.

Osun flags off distribution of instructional materials, sports equipment to schools

The Osun State Government on Tuesday flagged off the distribution of multi-million naira worth of instructional materials, sporting equipment, mattresses and their accessories to eight special schools as well as other conventional public primary and junior schools across the state for students’ use.

Honourable Israel Famurewa, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the education agency that organised the event, disclosed that the gesture had been a priority of the government in view of the need to boost teaching and learning activities, give the pupils in the school for special needs a sense of belonging and to bequeath quality education to the younger generation.
