Twitter reacts to the return of Joe Johnson to the Boston Celtics after nearly 20 years

The Boston Celtics were reunited with their No. 10 pick of the 2001 NBA draft — Joe Johnson — after nearly 20 years apart on Wednesday, with Johnson logging his first minutes for any team in the league since the 2017-18 season with a 2-point outing in a 111 – 101 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers that same evening.

It might not seem like much, but fans were excited for the perceived righting of the wrong committed by unpopular former team president and head coach Rick Pitino all those years ago when Pitino dealt away the future star for a comparative pittance in return.

They were even more ecstatic when ISO Joe sunk his sole basket attempt late in the win, and many fans and analysts took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the signing and Little Rock native’s return to action.

Social media reacts to No. 1 2022 recruit Travis Hunter’s shocking commitment to Jackson State football, Deion Sanders

Travis Hunter is the No. 1 recruit in the United States in the 2022 class, per the 247Sports Composite.

And he has committed to Jackson State football.

Hunter decommitted from Florida State and committed to Jackson State on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. It is the most shocking news story of early National Signing Day and in recent college football recruiting history.

It is an unprecedented move for a blue-chip recruit, much less the top recruit in the country, to make a move to an FCS school out of high school. That Hunter signed with Jackson State, an HBCU, makes it that much more meaningful.

NBA Twitter reacts to James Bouknight’s monstrous putback slam

Charlotte Hornets rookie James Bouknight produced a career performance on Monday and also threw down a monstrous putback slam dunk that had social media talking afterward.

Bouknight finished with 11 points, five rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes of action in the 127-124 overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. He registered seven points alone in the fourth quarter and helped Charlotte keep the game within striking distance down the stretch.

With the Hornets down five players to health and safety protocols, including LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier and Mason Plumlee, the team was forced to turn to Bouknight. The appearance was just his ninth of the season as he gave the team energy and effort off the bench.

Hornets head coach James Borrego liked how Bouknight played in the loss.

We believe in him. Obviously, the circumstances have put him in this position right now but he is showing

UConn star Paige Bueckers looks on.

The basketball world collectively held its breath on Sunday afternoon when Connecticut women’s basketball Paige Bueckers went down to the ground with an apparent non-contact injury.

Bueckers had to be helped off the floor with less than a minute to play in No. 2 UConn’s 73–54 win over No. 24 Notre Dame. As the sophomore guard tried to bring the ball up court with 38.5 seconds to play, her left leg buckled and nearly brought her all the way to the ground.

Bueckers was able to hobble her way up the court before falling in front of the Huskies bench in obvious pain. She was then helped off the floor and into the locker room by two of her teammates.

The apparent injury marred an otherwise fantastic afternoon for Bueckers and UConn. The 2020-21 Wooden Award winner scored 22 points, dished out four assists
