Jordan O’Hara admits he wasn’t sure why his parents were getting him out of bed at 11 p.m. Monday to watch a little television, but what flashed across ESPN’s SportsCenter was worth it.
The just-turned 8-year-old Jordan got to relive his spectacular moment in the Southwest Baseball League, his walk-off unassisted double play that was SportsCenter’s No. 1 highlight in their nightly top 10.
“Pretty cool,” Jordan said.
The play happened three weeks ago, with Jordan’s team leading 4-3 in the final inning of the 7U championship game.
“Technically, I got the ball on first base, it went past me a little,” Jordan said. “I got it and I was going to dive to first, but I saw I didn’t have to. I stepped on it. Then I saw the runner going to score. Technically I ran to him and I got him.”
