KU, Mizzou hoops recruit Aidan Shaw to leave Blue Valley High School for Link Academy

Blue Valley High School standout small forward Aidan Shaw, who recently made official men’s basketball recruiting trips to Kansas and Missouri, will transfer to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri for the 2021-22 school year, he announced Sunday night on Twitter.

Shaw, the No. 44-ranked player in the recruiting Class of 2022 according to and No. 56-ranked player nationally according to, confirmed the news in a direct Twitter message to The Star.

At Link Academy, the 6-foot-8, 190-pound Shaw will be a teammate of major college prospects Bryson Warren, Tarris Reed and Trey Green. KU and MU are recruiting both Warren and Reed. Study Finds Link Between Aerobic Fitness and Cognition

Researchers from Japan have found evidence of the missing link between aerobic fitness and cognitive function, according to a study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. The findings revealed that spontaneous eye blink (sEBR), which reflects activity of the dopamine system, could be used to understand the connection between cognitive function and aerobic fitness.

Previous research has found that exercise-induced changes in cognitive function might be mediated by activity in the dopaminergic system, which is known to be involved in physical activity and exercise, according to the current study. However, a marker of activity in this system was needed to test this hypothesis in a future study.
