Houston coach Kelvin Sampson apologized on Sunday night after an assistant coach and a player kicked chairs and a trash can over on their way off the court following the Cougars’ 83-82 loss to No. 9 Alabama.
No. 13 Houston lost to the Crimson Tide on Saturday night after missing a 3-pointer and multiple tip-ins in the final seconds. As time expired, Alabama guard JD Davison blocked a ball near the rim to seal the win — something Sampson and others thought should’ve been called goaltending.
