WATCH: Nick Saban dances with Alabama players in locker room after comeback to win Iron Bowl in overtime

Earlier this week, Alabama head coach Nick Saban took umbrage with Crimson Tide fans who, no longer satisfied with simply winning, bemoan their team for not blowing out their opponents week-in and week-out. While Saban’s rant about “self-absorbed” fans made headlines, lost in his comments about certain fans was how the seven-time national champion supported his players by saying that kind of mentality was not fair to the team.

Saturday, Saban and his players got to reap the rewards of a victory that was far from easy to earn. For most of the Iron Bowl, the Crimson Tide was shut out by Auburn, which led 10-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. But on a 97-yard drive that began with 1:03 left to play, Alabama scored a touchdown to force overtime, in which they prevailed to win by a score of 24-22.

Orioles’ Trey Mancini wins AL Comeback Player of the Year, Ryan Mountcastle named AL Outstanding Rookie in Players Choice Awards

From the moment he stepped back onto the field in spring training to mark the beginning of his comeback from colon cancer, Orioles star Trey Mancini has been warmly welcomed by his peers.

Their admiration for his return to play after missing all of 2020 for chemotherapy and treatment earned him American League Comeback Player of the Year in the 2021 Players Choice Awards, while fellow Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle was named the league’s Outstanding Rookie. The winners were announced during Wednesday night’s “SportsCenter” broadcast.

“It means the world. I’m so honored and humbled to receive this award,” Mancini said on ESPN. “When I got my diagnosis, I wasn’t totally sure that I’d be playing baseball again, so to be able to come back and play a whole season and receive this award means everything to me.”

Mancini, 29, played an entire season this year despite not having stepped

Hamilton’s QB vomited during the final TD pass of the wild comeback over Bishop Gorman

As if the Hamilton High School (Chandler, Ariz.) comeback victory over Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) couldn’t get any crazier, Huskies quarterback Nicco Marchiol led the comeback while sick. Sick enough that he threw up during game play.

Sick enough that he vomited as the football was being snapped to him on the final touchdown throw of the night, the one that would end up putting the Huskies in position to complete a two-point conversion and complete the 25-24 comeback victory in which they scored 18 points in less than 70 seconds.

And of course they went for the two-point conversion. After all, with your quarterback sick and all the momentum after recovering two onside kicks and scoring two touchdowns, you’re not going to allow overtime to take place.

There’s even video of the incident.

UFC’s White working on ‘fun stuff’ amid talk of McGregor comeback

UFC president Dana White said he is working on some “fun stuff” for Irish star Conor McGregor as he hinted at a possible comeback next year.

McGregor announced his decision to retire in June, having returned to the Octagon in January after a 15-month absence and knocked out Donald Cerrone at welterweight in just 40 seconds.

Former featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor had been planning to fight three times in 2020, however, the coronavirus pandemic scuppered that strategy.

White previously said no bout was planned for McGregor in 2021 but he told ESPN’s SportsCenter on Thursday: “We’re actually working on some fun stuff for Conor at the beginning of next year.

“He should be back next year. I’m not saying he’s coming back to fight, guaranteed, but we’re talking right now about some stuff.”

The 32-year-old McGregor boasts a 22-4 record, which includes wins over Eddie Alvarez, Nate Diaz and
