The Panther City Lacrosse Club is still searching for the franchise’s first win, but the team got its first Top Play on ESPN’s SportsCenter.

Playing its first game following a scheduled three-week break, Panther City faced a high-scoring San Diego Seals offense at Pechanga Arena Saturday night. Both teams’ regular goalies were scratches due to COVID-19 protocols, and the result was a high-scoring 15-12 Seals’ victory.

The loss leaves Panther City at 0-4, and just one of two National Lacrosse League (NLL) teams still searching for their first win. But the Fort Worth-based club got a victory, of sorts, when the team’s leading scorer found the back of the net

City of Springfield now owner of the Fieldhouse basketball-volleyball training facility

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The city of Springfield is now the proud owner of a south side multiple-court basketball and volleyball training facility known for hosting competitive leagues and tournaments.

The 46,000 square-foot Fieldhouse Sportscenter was built in 2013 near the intersection of Kansas Expressway and the James River Freeway. The privately-owned facility was never publicly put up for sale but the owners, wanting to spend more family time, approached the city earlier this year about buying them out.

On Monday night the city council voted 8-1 to purchase the property for $6 million, which is $2 million below the appraised value thanks to a discount offered by the owners.

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board will run the facility.

“We’re very excited about it all,” said Springfield-Greene Co. Park Board Director Bob Belote. “This is an incredible opportunity for the park system and I think our Springfield community at-large.”

Live match preview – Liverpool vs Man City 07.02.2021

Team news and stats ahead of Liverpool vs Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday; kick-off 4.30pm.

Team news

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp hopes to have Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Sadio Mane back for the visit of Premier League leaders Manchester City.

The Reds’ goalkeeper missed the midweek defeat by Brighton due to illness, while Fabinho and Mane have sat out recent matches with muscle injuries.

New defensive signing Ozan Kabak is eligible for the squad but it seems unlikely Klopp will throw him straight in for such an important match.

Man City are still without record goalscorer Sergio Aguero and playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

Aguero continues to build up his fitness in training after a spell out with coronavirus while De Bruyne is absent with a hamstring injury.

Defender Nathan Ake also remains on the sidelines with a muscular problem.

“Matt Barnes on Lob City Clippers: ‘We Were Our Own Worst Enemy’

In a response to a Sportscenter Instagram post that highlighted some of the most entertaining moments from the LA Clippers’ ‘Lob City’ era, former Clippers forward Matt Barnes commented “We were our own worst enemy.”

It’s an astute point, and Barnes is not the only Lob City teammate to have been so forthcoming about the Clippers’ missed opportunities (J.J. Redick has said about as much multiple times on his podcast). It seems that the consensus takeaway from this era of Clippers basketball—the first in which they were truly considered title contenders—was that they did not reach their full potential.

The Sportscenter post was mostly comprised of Blake Griffin dunks, as they should be. Griffin might not have been the best player on those Clippers teams, but he was emblematic of the culture the Clippers had built. They were the most entertaining team in Los Angeles because of him (at least
