Scott Van Pelt missed CFP ‘SportsCenter’ because of heart scare

Scott Van Pelt had a heart scare earlier this week that caused him to miss one of the biggest “SportsCenter” programs of the year.

“Bummed to miss one of my favorite shows of the year, but happy to be ok and home after a bit of a medical scare this afternoon,” Van Pelt tweeted on Monday.

“Thanks to @SuburbanHosp @CJPVFD for looking after me. Heart got a little out of whack, (SVT) which was pretty spooky, but fine now.”

Van Pelt, 55, hosts ESPN’s midnight “SportsCenter.” With the network’s wide array of live rights, this program essentially serves as the postgame show for the evening in sports.

Alabama vs. Georgia football video highlights, score in the 2022 CFP national championship

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama football teams meet in Indianapolis for the 2022 College Football Playoff national championship game on Monday, Jan. 10.

UGA defeated Alabama 33-18.

Alabama, ranked No. 1 in the USA Today Sports AFCA Coaches Poll, went to 13-2 overall. No. 3-ranked Georgia improved to 14-1 overall.

Michigan vs. Georgia results: Stetson Bennett’s 3 TDs lead Bulldogs to blowout win in CFP semifinal

The College Football Playoff National Championship Game will be an SEC championship game rematch.

No. 3 Georgia established early that it was more than capable of bouncing back from a stinging conference championship loss to Alabama, opening up a 17-point lead against No. 2 Michigan.

The matchup only got worse from there. Georgia added two more touchdowns to complete a 34-11 rout in the Orange Bowl on Friday. The Bulldogs outgained the Wolverines 515-325.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 21 of 31 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns.
