Watch Coppell’s Naz Brown hit a full-court buzzer-beater to beat Denton Guyer

Coppell’s Naz Brown had the No. 1 play on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday night after making a full-court buzzer-beater to beat Denton Guyer 66-63.

Guyer had a chance to win it, but a layup came up short, and Brown grabbed the ball, took one dribble and then heaved it the length of the court. He swished the shot and was mobbed by his teammates.

“Total shock. He was 80 feet from the basket, and the clock was running off, and he just threw one up and it went in. It was kind of a one in a million shot,” Coppell coach Clint Schnell said. “I made a comment to him in the locker room. I said, ‘I bet you couldn’t go out there and do that again if you stayed up here all week.’ “

Unforgettable tribute to his mom by Red Bank Catholic QB Alex Brown the day after she died

It was a performance for the ages in the most emotional moment imaginable.

A day after Red Bank Catholic quarterback Alex Brown lost his mom Michelle after her 15-year battle with breast cancer, he came through with an unforgettable tribute for his biggest fan Friday night at Count Basie Field.

“There was never a doubt in my mind I was playing,” Brown said. “That’s how she wanted it. I talked to my dad and I said, ‘I want to play for mom and make a special memory,’ and that’s what happened.”

It certainly did. Brown generated eight touchdowns – throwing six TD passes and running for two more scores – in a 58-34 victory over Morris Catholic in an NJSIAA Non-Public B playoff game in Red Bank.

Brown’s father, Ray, said, “I’m not super religious but I am spiritual. And I truly believe this whole game was scripted before it

Vadim Nemkov wants to finish Phil Davis in Bellator 257 main event

Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov is set to make his first title defense against former light heavyweight champion Phil Davis in the quarterfinals of the promotion’s light heavyweight grand prix at Bellator 257. Nemkov’s last victory was a masterclass performance, where he finished the former champion, current no. 1 contender, and another competitor in the light heavyweight grand prix Ryan Bader to win the belt at Bellator 244 in August. Speaking at virtual media day for Bellator 257, Nemkov discussed what it has been like to be a “front man” of sorts for the promotion as a champion in what is perhaps Bellator’s most stacked division. “I’m very proud that I’m on this level,” Nemkov said. “Bellator made posters of me and my picture is on the arena, on the cage.” Despite already reaching one

Seahawks targeting Marquise Goodwin, Russell Wilson wants Antonio Brown

NFL Rumors: Seahawks targeting potential upgrades at receiver position originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest

The Seattle Seahawks have done a good job of adding talent around Russell Wilson this offseason.

It started when the team agreed to a trade that sent Las Vegas Raiders guard Gabe Jackson to Seattle to upgrade Wilson’s blocking. Then, the team brought aboard former Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett on a one-year deal to give the Seahawks some extra upside and potential at that spot.

Now, it looks like they’re turning their attention to the receiver position. Tyler Lockett already got a massive extension to stay with the Seahawks, but the team may not be done at wide-out.

According to Bleacher Report, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler confirmed on a recent episode of SportsCenter that the Seahawks are looking for a potential No. 3 receiver in free agency. He also mentioned a player
