Vermont organizations connect disabled athletes with specialized equipment and opportunities

Charles Prendergast’s first time sailing on Lake Champlain at a Northeast Disabled Athletes Association event felt like “day and night” compared to his previous experience sailing with an adaptive program. 

Earlier, he was just a passenger. On Lake Champlain, he found himself sailing the boat.

Prendergast, now a board member of the organization, said the boat’s two seats allowed him to be coached by an able-bodied volunteer while sailing it.

“You could recreationally sail, and you can also be competitive — which was even more fun because it was like, alright, now I’m kind of motivated to really learn how to make this thing go fast and really know what I’m doing,” Prendergast said of his experience.

Usman Mukhtar kicks off wedding festivities with an intimate mayun

Usman Mukhtar has been lately in the news for his currently airing drama serial, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay. And while every other drama lover is cursing his character Aswad’s arc in the story, we are aware that Aswad is conflicted and unable to decide who to favour: the deceased Mashal or the alleged murderer Mehreen. Though, we don’t know what Aswad will do, Usman has made his choice long ago in April when he got hitched to Zunaira Inam Khan.

Iowa State to change operations of high-risk sport clubs | News

Iowa State has proposed changes to the regulations of “high-risk” sport clubs that will prevent some clubs from practicing. The Equestrian Club is one of the organizations that would be impacted by the change.




Iowa State recently tasked a review committee with developing a proposal that aims to increase the health and safety of members of high-risk sport clubs on campus. 

After a crew club accident that resulted in the death of two students last spring, the university aims to make changes to the operations of student sport clubs. This proposal consists of recommendations from the US Council for Athletes Health and a group of university personnel.

Davante Adams Unveils New Fitness Equipment In East Palo Alto

EAST PALO ALTO, CA — Star NFL receiver Davante Adams returned to his hometown of East Palo Alto on Monday to unveil new outdoor fitness equipment at Jack Farrell Park for the community to use.

Adams, in partnership with sports nutrition company Optimum Nutrition’s Building Better Lives program, helped donate the equipment, which includes a variety of cardio and strength training equipment such as suspension trainers, magnetic bells, sport bikes, cross trainers and pull-up stations.

The 29-year-old Adams starred at Palo Alto High School before going to Fresno State for college. After eight seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Adams was recently traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in a blockbuster deal, reportedly signing a five-year contract worth over $141 million to become the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.
