Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons broke a two-week hiatus from Instagram to show everyone what he’s been working on this offseason in the gym. The trolls quickly descended on him and the three-time All-Star wasn’t having it, perhaps he had reached his breaking point.

Simmons posted three harmless pictures, including where he is holding a basketball ready to fire a jumper. No one knows if the shot want in, but one insensitive fan commented: “he really acting like he was about to shoot in that second pic.”

To which Simmons replied: “ya lips look like ya got stung by a bee … nutty professor a**.” Clearly Simmons has heard enough of his unwillingness to shoot.

Joel Embiid, Doc Rivers don’t sound confident in Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons had a chance to redeem himself on Sunday at the end of a series noted for his offensive stagnation.

He did not.

The Philadelphia 76ers point guard posted his fourth single-digit scoring effort of the Eastern Conference semifinals and again not only looked unable to shoot the ball, but unwilling. His five-point, 13-assist, eight-rebound effort arrived as the Atlanta Hawks completed a stunning upset in seven games to topple the top-seeded 76ers and advance to the conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

With the Sixers season ending unexpectedly in seven games to the upstart Hawks, the franchise once again faces questions regarding their future.

Whether it’s asking themselves if Doc Rivers is truly the right man for the job. Or going deeper and pondering if the duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid can truly win.

Following their home loss to the Hawks, when asked if Simmons could be the point guard on a championship team, Rivers’ answer deviated from prototypical coach-speak.

Coaches would usually still praise their players and defend them publicly regardless of the questions they receive, as Rivers did leading up to Game 7. But clearly, Simmons’ performance in their season-finale may have left the coach questioning many things.

Embiid also gave his thoughts on the loss, in a way that seemed to be

Jake Paul wasted no time adding another highlight-reel clip to his growing collection Saturday night, earning a first-round technical-knockout win in a highly anticipated boxing match against retired mixed martial artist Ben Askren at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Paul dropped Askren with a right hook roughly 90 seconds into the fight. Askren tried to get up and continue fighting, but the referee waved off the fight because Askren didn’t look steady on his feet.

Here’s a look at the fight-ending punch, per SportsCenter:

After the fight, Paul said this proved he was a “real fighter,” per TalkSport.com’s Michael Benson:
