Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield took a big shot that forced him to leave Sunday’s game versus the Patriots.

After the game, Mayfield was asked if he thinks he’ll be a go for next week’s matchup against the Detroit Lions.

The 26-year-old QB didn’t mince words when asked about his status for Week 11.

“I’ve got to find a way to get as healthy as possible. Pretty beat up right now. We’ll see. Awkward landing.”

The quote comes via the excellent Mary Kay Cabot.

One thing that can’t be questioned about the Browns’ fourth year QB is his toughness. Mayfield has battled through a left shoulder separation, torn labrum, tuberosity fracture, and now a knee issue.

The injury bug couldn’t come at a worse time for Baker, who’s been durable throughout his career.

The U.S. will be relying on Brooks Koepka, among others, when it takes on the European squad in next week’s Ryder Cup in Wisconsin.

The prestigious match play tournament, which is held every two years, has been dominated by the Europeans of late. Europe has won seven of the last nine events, including the 2018 championship in France.

Why have the Americans struggled under this format? Well, Koepka seemed to provide some explanation in a recent interview with Golf Digest.

We’re just so individualized, and everybody has their routine and a different way of doing things, and now, it’s like, OK, we have to

Cam Newton is opening up about his release by the New England Patriots.

Heading into Week 1, the Patriots decided to release the veteran quarterback, naming rookie Mac Jones the team’s starting quarterback.

Newton recently gave a brutally honest admission on his release.

“Let me be honest with you… if they would’ve asked me, if they said, ‘Cam, we’re going to give the team to Mac, you’re going to be the second string. We expect you to be everything and some to help guide him through this tenure’ — I would’ve said, ‘Absolutely,’” Newton said in his latest YouTube video.

“The truth of the matter is, this — [Mac] would have been uncomfortable.”

Kenny Mayne’s final episode of SportsCenter at ESPN was as entertaining as it gets. While most fans were captivated by Aaron Rodgers’ comments about his situation with the Green Bay Packers, others were shocked when they heard what former MLB star Fred McGriff had to tell Mayne.

McGriff, who was a five-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger during his MLB career, used to be at the forefront of a commercial for Tom Emanski’s Baseball World Defensive Drills video. That advertisement often played on ESPN, so it’s only fitting that Mayne asked about McGriff’s role in it.

To the surprise of many, McGriff revealed that he’s never actually seen the defensive drills video that he was endorsing years ago.

“I am going to reveal this to the nation. Honestly, I’ve never seen the video in my life,” McGriff told Mayne. “OK, you know what I’m saying?
