By the Numbers

Seahawks offense vs. Carolina defense

  • Rushing yards per game Seahawks – 111.1 (21st) vs. Rushing yards against per game San Francisco – 75.1 (1st).
  • Passing yards per game Seahawks – 244.2 (9th) vs. Passing yards against per game San Francisco – 211.8 (12th).
  • Total yards per game Seahawks – 355.2 (13th) vs. Total yards against per game San Francisco – 286.8 (1st).
  • Points per game Seahawks – 26.3 (6th) vs. Points per game against San Francisco – 15.2 (1st).
  • QB sacks allowed Seahawks – 34 (22nd) vs. QB sacks San Francisco – 36 (8th).

Kenneth Walker returns this week to face the league’s best run defense. Not only does San Francisco stop the run, but they also give up the fewest points per game. That’s not good for a slumping Seattle Seahawks offense.

Seahawks defense vs. Carolina offense

  • Rushing yards per game San Francisco – 130.6 (9th) vs. Rushing yards against per game Seahawks – 160.5 (31st).
  • Passing yards per game San Francisco – 230.8 (13th) vs. Passing yards against per game Seahawks – 218.2 (18th).
  • Total yards per game San Francisco – 361.5 (9th) vs. Total yards against per game Seahawks – 378.7 (28th).
  • Points per game San Francisco – 24.4 (8th) vs. Points per game against Seahawks – 25.7 (30th).
  • QB sacks allowed San Francisco – 23 (7th) vs. QB sacks Seahawks – 34 (10th-tied).

This is a different San Francisco offense than the Seattle Seahawks faced in Week 2. Quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo are both out injured. 2022 7th round pick Brock Purdy is the new starter.

Additionally, the Niners are without their best offensive weapon Deebo Samuel who was carted off the field last week. But the added running back Christian McCaffrey in a trade and tight end George Kittle is back.
