Paige Beebe’s goal lands No. 1 on SportsCenter’s Top 10

Feb. 12—BEMIDJI — There’s good, and then there’s SportsCenter Top 10 good.

Bemidji State senior Paige Beebe proved to be the latter, as her miraculous game-winning goal on Friday night took the No. 1 spot on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays for the day.

Beebe scored

the game-winning goal to defeat No. 2 Ohio State with just 0.3 seconds left on the clock

. From her defensive circle, Beebe fired into an empty net on the other side of the ice and sent her team into pandemonium.

The Buckeyes had pulled their goalie with 14 seconds left in pursuit of a regulation win in attempt to maximize their points in the race for the WCHA regular season title.

It almost worked, but BSU goaltender Kerigan Dowhy also produced an incredible, no-look kick save that turned into an assist on Beebe’s goal. Dowhy even received a shoutout during the Top 10 spot by ESPN anchor Stan Verrett.

Beebe isn’t the first Beaver to find herself in the Top 10. BSU men’s hockey’s Brendan Harris came in at No. 5 in March 2021 for his breakaway goal against Lake Superior State. On the football field, Bemidji State wide receiver Jordan Noskowiak had the No. 3 play in September 2015 when he secured a leaping touchdown reception by reaching over the defender to make the catch.
