Will Julio Jones be playing for the Atlanta Falcons in 2021?
The All-Pro wide receiver is reportedly on the trading block. Jones is rumored to be interested in a trade out of Atlanta. The former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver has spent his entire NFL career with the NFC South franchise.
However, that could change heading into the 2021 season.
Jones is rumored to be on the trading block and multiple NFL teams are believed to have interest. The New England Patriots are reportedly one of those teams.
NFL.com had more:
The Falcons have been listening to trade offers on Julio Jones for some time. Count the Patriots among those kicking the tires on acquiring the perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver.
New England has had internal discussions about Jones, NFL Network’s Mike Giardi reported.
The Patriots could look to pair Jones with former NFC South star quarterback Cam Newton. New England is certainly in need of some upgrading at the wide receivers position.
Jones has reportedly told people that he would like to play with Newton.
The Patriots aren’t the only team with apparent interest, though.
Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins also took to Twitter to make it clear that he is interested in teaming up with Jones. Hopkins went as far to say that he would re-structure his contract to make room for Jones.
Jones might be somewhat past his prime, though he continues to be an impact player at the wide receiver position. Few, if any, have been better since he came into the league.
Jones, 32, is coming off a 2020 season in which he caught 51 passes for 771 yards and three touchdowns.
Who will he be playing for in 2021?
