New BMW 3 Series to elevate style, tech and equipment

Considered the heart of BMW’s brand, the new 3 Series will score a refresh in time for its local launch in the last quarter of 2022. Key to these changes is a new styling package, which will further enhance the sporty look of sedan and touring models.

The front has been redesigned to include styling changes to the LED headlights, which have been slimmed down, while the daytime running lights have been rearranged into an inverted L-shape for a more contemporary look.

BMW’s signature kidney grille has had adjustments made to its contours, as well as the addition of new double bars, to give it a more aggressive look, while gloss black air intakes below the grille cool the brakes.

The rear has also undergone some tweaks, with more surfaces to be colour-matched to the body, while slimmer tail lights, wider diameter exhaust tips and flared rear arches emphasise the 3 Series’ road presence.

BMW have also made changes to its M Sport package, which comes standard on the entire range, and now include M-Sport alloy wheels in either 18 or 19-inch, mesh in the kidney grille and trapezoidal exhaust trims.

New to the options list is the M Sport Pro Package, which adds M Sport brakes with red callipers, and Shadowline M lights and trim in high gloss black. Four new exterior colours include Skyscraper Grey, Frozen Pure Grey, Frozen Tanzanite Blue, and M Brooklyn Grey.

Changes to the interior include a 12.3-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel, which is paired with a 14.9-inch media unit. Both merge into one fully digital high resolution curved unit for a sophisticated and luxurious cabin feel.

The gear selector has also been redesigned and repositioned to the centre console. The latest iDrive software is paired with BMW’s Operating System 8, improving integrating connectivity, data processing, and driver to vehicle interaction via the My BMW app.

A range of safety features across the range now includes lane departure warning, lane change warning, and rear cross traffic alert, as well as other functions provided by the Parking Assistant.

The new BMW 3 Series, in sedan and touring, will be arriving on our shores in the fourth quarter of 2022, with pricing and specifications to be announced at a later date. If you’re interested, and need finance, visit CreditOne.
