Nderitu and Gongolo to highlight Scrabble Kenya Nairobi meeting – DAILY SPORT
Top scrabble players Allan Oyende, Gitonga Nderitu and Michael Gongolo will be leading the Scrabble team as Nairobi hosts the last National Scrabble Tournament.
The December tournament has attracted top Scrabble Kenya players across the country where the tournament will be proceeded by elections on Sunday.
Gongola is leading the pack with 3 out of 12 wins this year, followed by veteran Gitonga with Gitonga is looking to tie it up with his longtime rival over the meet this weekend.
The tournament will be comprised of three divisions. As the norm is, it will not be a walk in the park, as history has proven that this is the tournament with the highest turnout of the year.
Mark Sibuor, the host of this leg, was very pleased to bring the tournament to his back yard. “We have lots of goodies lined up for this event, and want to end the year with a bang.”
Trademark Hotel, Village Market will be home to close to 80 players this weekend as tiles clash for the last title of 2022.
The tournament is part of the selection events for team Kenya to ECASA and WESPAC, as well as elections for the team that will lead the federation for the next 4 years.
