Long-time Michigan State men’s basketball assistant Mike Garland retires

Michigan State men’s basketball assistant mentor Mike Garland declared his retirement on Thursday after investing 22 seasons on the bench in East Lansing. 

Garland commenced his vocation with the Spartans when he was employed by Tom Izzo in 1996. He remained in East Lansing right until 2003, when he was hired to be the head mentor at Cleveland State. Garland also used a person year as an assistant mentor at SMU for the duration of the 2006-07 period, before returning to Michigan Point out for the 07-08 period.
