Ibom Angels FC Coach Usen Ebuk hails players winning-attitude following win over Abia Angels FC
Ibom Angels FC Head Coach Usen Ebuk has hailed the winning attitude of his players following a 1-0 victory over Abia Angels FC on Matchday two of 2022/2023 NWFL season.
Their first home game since returning to the Nigeria Women Football League, Coach Usen in his post match comments stated the hard-fought win was a product of their attitude In training.
The Akwa-Ibom born gaffer who led the Orange Ladies promotion charge earlier this year was full of praise for his youthful side, with 80% of the players making their Nigeria Women Football League bow this term.
Coach Usen said “I was very confident that we will win the match.
” You will get confidence from the training sessions. I had checked the attitude of the players, you know attitude wins matches and the attitude was okay.
” That gave me the confidence that we will win the game.”
Substitute Adekemi Akintan scored the only goal of the match off a Chioma Abayim assist in the 78th minute of play to seal a 1-0 win for the Orange Ladies at the Practice pitch of the Nest of Champions, Uyo on Wednesday December 7, 2022.
Aside being neighbors, both teams had a number of former players in opposition for the game. Abia Angels were led out by former defender Victoria Eyakndue who returned to face hometown club Ibom Angels FC.
The goalscorer was introduced in the 62nd minute against her former team, a move that paid off with the winning goal, one she is grateful to her Coach Usen Ebuk for the confidence to play.
” I will give thanks to my coach for believing in me to play in the match, ” Adekemi told the Ibom Angels media crew after the game.
” It is a very great feeling scoring against my former team. ” She concluded.
In her post match reaction, Abia Angels FC Head Coach Ann Chiejine blamed the loss on lack of concerntration from her players.
“I would say we lost concerntration few minutes to the end of the match, ” The Ex-International said.
” My girls played very well today. We will go back to the drawing board to see what we can achieve in the next game,” She concluded.

Ibom Angels FC will face Nasarawa Amazons FC on Wednesday, December 14, at their adopted home ground in Markudi, Benue state.
