ESPN Has Signed 2 Hosts To Contract Extensions

Just a month ago, it was reported that Neil Everett might be on his way out of ESPN, as contract negotiations hit a snag. After losing one major host in Maria Taylor, it looks like the Worldwide Leader got things worked out with Everett and Ashley Brewer.

As first reported by Sports Business Journal, Everett and Brewer have re-upped with the network. Both will be in the rotation for the 1 a.m. SportsCenter, which broadcasts from Los Angeles.

As a result, Brewer is moving out West, after working from Bristol to this point in her ESPN career. She and Everett will work with Stan Verrett and Linda Cohn on that late-night edition of ESPN’s signature show.

Brewer had been working as the host of the now-ESPN+-based SportsNation. ESPN says that she will remain a “fill-in host” for that show from Los Angeles, and that the job would be “filled by a variety of people until a new permanent host can be named.”

Neil Everett has been a popular staple on SportsCenter, and joined ESPN in 2000. He relocated out West in 2009, when ESPN opened its Los Angeles campus.

Brewer, a former USC swimmer, will return to her former home for the new job. She was previously an anchor and host for ABC7 in Los Angeles, covering the city’s local pro teams.

After losing Maria Taylor and the other drama within the ESPN ranks in recent weeks, retaining these two is a big win for the network.
