If anyone wanted to see a fairytale story for an NFL player, fans could have seen it Thursday night with Baker Mayfield.

His first game with the Los Angeles Rams saw the former first-round pick getting a comeback victory for his team.

However, the biggest part is how he did this with him having only 48 hours to learn the team’s playbook.

Now that Mayfield has a win, fans are wondering if his win can translate into a future with the Rams.

With the team having Matthew Stafford, how realistic are Mayfield’s chances in Los Angeles?

One Game Won’t Decide Mayfield’s Fate

While fans might see Mayfield as a Ram, one game doesn’t mean he has a future with the team.

He still has plenty to prove, despite winning his first game with very little time with his new team.

With how he’s blamed others for mistakes in the past, it’s on him to take responsibility in Los Angeles.

While his Thursday night game won’t require this from him, other games might.

It’s how he handles failure that will decide his fate in Los Angeles.

While he got a Hollywood treatment on Thursday night, he won’t have this every other game.

However, if he wins more games, and acts mature, he might find himself a spot with the Rams.

But with Stafford on the roster, the team already has a commitment to a much more expensive quarterback.

Baker’s only hope is not only having a better 2022 but also having Stafford’s injury to keep him out for 2023.
