Bucks, Serge Ibaka agree to one-year deal

No cost-agent huge man Serge Ibaka has agreed to re-sign with the Bucks on a just one-yr contract, in accordance to Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link).

Ibaka, 32, was traded from the Clippers to the Bucks at the 2022 trade deadline and appeared in 19 frequent-period video games for Milwaukee down the stretch, averaging 7. PPG and 5.3 RPG with a .519/.351/.800 taking pictures line in 17.8 MPG. He was not component of the team’s playoff rotation.

Ibaka is a 3-time All-Defensive participant who led the NBA in blocks for each match in 2013 and 2013 and was a critical member of the Raptors’ 2019 championship team.

On the other hand, again issues have slowed him down to some extent in modern decades — he underwent surgical procedures in 2021 and didn’t glimpse like his aged self on returning.

Even though terms of Ibaka’s new offer are not yet recognised, it appears the Bucks are assured in his means to be a practical depth piece in the frontcourt now that he’s yet another 12 months removed from that treatment on his again.

Ibaka is the fifth absolutely free agent to agree to terms with the Bucks in the past few days, joining Bobby Portis, Joe Ingles, Jevon Carter, and Wesley Matthews. Milwaukee also has 8 players on current guaranteed contracts, with initially-rounder MarJon Beauchamp established to be part of that group.
