Gary Neville admitted he would have played for rivals Arsenal if Manchester United made a decision to market him.
Neville told Sky Sports’ Off Script: “For myself, leaving hardly ever once entered my head. My longest contract negotiation was three meetings – they had been generally finished inside of a single or two meetings, and they were usually prolonged contracts.
“I’d produced the decision very early in my 30s that if Sir Alex [Ferguson] had come and advised me my time was up, I wouldn’t have performed for any individual else. I was privileged in that perception.
“On the other hand, if he’d appear to me at say the age of 28, and explained to me my time was up, of training course I would have performed for a further Premier League club.
“Who would I have played for? You can rule out three: I’d have under no circumstances have performed for [Manchester] City, Liverpool or Leeds. Not in a million years.
“I do not experience everything terrible in direction of the players who did that, but me personally, I couldn’t have carried out it. The rivalry is just far too much.
“If you’d claimed to me, in a best earth, in my decades of participating in, which golf equipment in the Leading League have the tradition, a correct club? Arsenal would be No1.
“The custom of Highbury, I felt they did things the ideal way. Also in the Leading League, I like Aston Villa and Newcastle.
“In Europe I admired Juventus and Bayern Munich. I revered them as soccer golf equipment. Bayern were being meticulous in their planning, so internationally, it would be them”
