Watch Coppell’s Naz Brown hit a full-court buzzer-beater to beat Denton Guyer

Coppell’s Naz Brown had the No. 1 play on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday night after making a full-court buzzer-beater to beat Denton Guyer 66-63.

Guyer had a chance to win it, but a layup came up short, and Brown grabbed the ball, took one dribble and then heaved it the length of the court. He swished the shot and was mobbed by his teammates.

“Total shock. He was 80 feet from the basket, and the clock was running off, and he just threw one up and it went in. It was kind of a one in a million shot,” Coppell coach Clint Schnell said. “I made a comment to him in the locker room. I said, ‘I bet you couldn’t go out there and do that again if you stayed up here all week.’ “

Vikings Announce Encouraging Update On Everson Griffen Situation

Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen has reportedly exited his home and is “getting the help he needs.”

The team shared an update Wednesday afternoon after a concerning situation involving the the four-time Pro Bowler arose earlier in the day.

“Law enforcements agencies have notified us Everson Griffen came out of his home without incident and is now getting the care he needs,” the Vikings organization said in a statement.

“We are thankful to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnetrista Police Department and the Orono Police Department for their quick response and dedication to ensuring the situation ended peacefully.”

The Vikings concluded, “Our focus remains on Everson’s health and safety and providing the proper resources for him and his family.”

Chet Holmgren is off to a historic start with Gonzaga

No. 1 recruit Chet Holmgren has put five games in the books this season with the Gonzaga Bulldogs, and the 7-foot-1 standout is putting up historic numbers to start his collegiate career.

The latest performance came on Monday as Holmgren led the No. 1 Bulldogs to a win over Central Michigan to tip off the Good Sam Empire Classic from Las Vegas, Nevada. Holmgren recorded 19 points, five rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists in 20 minutes of work.

The 19-year-old once again flashed his unique size and skillset in the victory on Monday. On one sequence, in particular, Holmgren blocked a shot and then took the ball coast-to-coast to finish for the and-1 attempt on the other end.
