Portland Timbers’ Dairon Asprilla pulls off amazing bicycle kick goal against San Jose Earthquakes

Dairon Asprilla, take a bow.

The Portland Timbers forward submitted a late entry for Major League Soccer’s goal of the year with an amazing, must-see bicycle kick goal from outside the 18-yard box against the stunned San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night.

The frenetic play started when Earthquakes goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski spilled the ball and Asprilla was able to recover the rebound. With Marcinkowski well outside of the goalmouth, Asprilla took the rebound and launched the ball over the goalkeeper’s head and in for an incredible goal.

On Tuesday Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had a meltdown at the tail end of his weekly press conference, having been asked about rumors that he’s a candidate for several different Power 5 head coaching jobs.

“I don’t have time for that speculation. That’s a joke to me. I’ve got one of the best jobs in all of professional sports. Why would I have any interest in coaching college football?” Tomlin responded, clearly getting hot under the collar.

“That will be the last time that I address (these rumors). And not only today, but moving forward. Never say never, but never, okay?” concluded Tomlin, who has been in his current job for the past 15 years.

Tom Brady Rips Bargaining Skills Of Fan Who Gave Back His 600th Touchdown Pass

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got off easy when a fan who obtained the football thrown by the star quarterback for his 600th touchdown pass gave it back to the team during Sunday’s game.

But Brady rubbed it in Monday, chiding spectator Byron Kennedy for surrendering his bargaining power by returning the memento after a brief negotiation. (Watch the video below.)

“Byron realized he lost all his leverage by giving the ball away,” Brady told Peyton and Archie Manning on ESPN2′s “Monday Night Football” ManningCast. “He should have held it and then get as much leverage as possible.”

Peyton Manning called it “an amateur move.”

“If he would have held it he would have been sitting in the Tom Brady suite for the rest of the season,” Manning joked.
